Obituary of Kelli Rundle

Colleen Andrea “Kelli” Rundle (nee Kruhliak), the bright and shining light in the lives of so many people, has passed away of natural causes peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the age of 74.

Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario on February 1, 1950, Kelli grew up with her sister Nancy and parents Anna and Andrew above their family’s independent variety store.  She was an exemplary student and followed her lifelong passion to educate children by enrolling in teachers’ college immediately after high school.

Kelli moved to London, Ontario for a teaching position, and soon thereafter married.  She had three loving sons Luke, Sean and Josh, and did a fantastic job raising them.  Kelli spent 37 years teaching at various schools in the London Catholic District School Board.  Kelli was also active in her community - volunteering for various charitable causes, a member of the OECTA teachers’ union, and was a staple within the Ukrainian-Canadian society circle.

A loving mother, Grammie, teacher and friend, Kelli always put the needs of others before the needs of herself.  She adored her family intensely, cherished her massive circle of friends, and valued every student that she ever taught.  Kelli lived her life boldly, in full technicolor, and always with her whole heart.

Kelli’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of so many.  Kelli was the beloved mother to Luke, Sean and Josh; mother-in-law to Paula and Kathy; grandmother to Leah, Hayley, Jakob, Karyssa, Grayson, Max, Harper and Rowynn; sister to Nancy; sister-in-love to the Rundle/Rousseau/Polson clans; and she was an amazing friend to so many, whom she adored and saw as her extended family.  She will be missed by everyone she pulled into her loving orbit.

Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Wednesday, March 13 between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Prayers at 3:30 pm.   A Funeral Mass for Kelli will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside Street, on Thursday, March 14 at 11 am, with an interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery afterwards.  A reception will follow at St. Michael’s after the interment.

Kelli loved every type of bright, beautiful flowers – so if anyone would like to send a small arrangement in her memory, she would have treasured them.  Charitable donations can also be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.   On her behalf, her family is sending “Chomas” into the universe to everyone whose lives she graced with her light.
